Where does he come up with these things?

Garrett is one of the funniest kids I know. He has impeccable timing, and honestly, I think he knows that he is funny. Last week, I was telling him to pick up his toys that he left on the floor in the family room. He was crouched beside the couch so I couldn't see him. From beside the couch I hear a voice say, "Garrett is not home right now. Please leave a message." I tried to maintain my composure so he'd know I mean business, but I failed! I laughed and he laughed. Eventually, the toys made it back to the playroom. Eventually.

On our way back from the Outer Banks last weekend, we stopped at a Wendy's for dinner. After waiting in line for what seemed like an eternity, Garrett was eager to say the blessing. He must have told us two or three times "I'll say the blessing! I'll say the blessing!" We didn't acknowledge him soon enough. Then we heard, "Blessing starts in 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1..." It is really hard to keep a straight face around this kid! But, laughter does a body good, so I guess I'll keep him around a while.
